Liz Acevedo -- Technician Supervisor Hired: 5/23/2001 Certified Technician: Liz is celebrating her 3 year anniversary to Miguel on 10/10/11. She is the proud mom of 8 year old son Ethan, and their newest addition Michael on 10/4/11. She has a full house with her 4 year old dog Tank, her 4 cats Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, and Earth, and a toad Chili. She enjoys every aspect of her job and is always looking to learn something new. |
Leslie Arrington -- Receptionist Hired: 7/22/2009 Phone Support: Leslie is the mother of two beautiful and wonderful children. She has been a client of CCVS for over 10 years. She has many pets at home including 4 dogs, 3 cats, 10 chinchillas, 1 ball python, and several gerbils. She has a great passion for animals. She loves to read and spend time with good friends. Originally from NY, she now lives in East Stroudsburg and really loves the beauty PA has to offer. |
Jamie Bartholomew -- Technician Hired: 6/28/2011 Jamie moved back from Montana in June with her 2 year old Quarter Horse, "Gunner", and Shetland Pony, "Hannah". She enjoys training her Colt and teaching her niece to ride her Pony. She is glad to be back and is looking forward to the beginning of her family due in April 2012. |
Mercedes Beebe -- Kennel Assistant Hired: 7/26/2011 Mercedes is 18 years old and has a Yorkie named Marcelle. She enjoys riding quads and spending time with her family. She would like to become a vet tech and is hoping to go to college right after school. |
Yancy Bixler -- Technician Supervisor Hired: 7/30/2007 ICU Supervisor / Certified Technician: Yancy puts a great deal of empathy into her work. She loves when patients go home to happy owners. She loves running her own feline rescue called The Feline Farm and spends a lot of time during the summer doing kitten rescues. She enjoys movies, reading, playing games on the computer, and various outdoor activities. |

Katelyn Breiner -- Technician Hired: 1/25/2008 Katelyn is 22 years old and has been employed at CCVS for 4 years. She has worked in instruments, as a front technician, client communications, and is currently working as an ICU technician. Katelyn does physical rehab and laser treatments and is currently working towards becoming a certified technician at NCC. She is also working on creating a blog for the clinic and does at home pet sitting. Most of her animals were rescued from CCVS. She also fosters and rehabilitates animals for adoption. She has also just joined our Relay for Life team - Ark of Hope. |
Melissa Brower -- Office Manager Hired: 7/29/2004 Melissa is a graduate from the 2010 Leadership Pocono Class. She spends most of her days behind all the paperwork here at CCVS, but will still make time to lend a helping hand or chiro arm. She is proud mom of daughter Hannah Lynn, 3 1/2, dogs Mya and Chance, and cats Rusty, Bam Bam, Pebbles, Faith, and Abby. In her spare time she is a member of Relay for Life team Arc of Hope. She enjoys baking and doing arts and crafts with her daughter. |
Elizabeth Caesar -- Technician Hired: 5/2/2005 Elizabeth has been with CCVS for 6 1/2 years. She enjoys doing physical rehabilitation. She has been married for 10 1/2 years to husband, Chris, and has two sons, Chase and Mason. Her pets consist of "Bucca", an 11 1/2 yr old pit-bull, "Speedy", a Bearded Dragon, and "Chowder", a 2 year old French Bulldog. |
Nicole Deckert -- Night Technician Hired: 11/18/2006 Nikki graduated with a degree in Medical Assisting and enjoys using that knowledge to care for our many patients. She is currently working overnight in our ICU. In her spare time she can be found at her son’s football and baseball games. When she's not there she is busy tending "The Farm". |
Warren Eckel Jr. -- Kennel Assistant Hired: 6/14/2010 Warren enjoys working in the kennel with the dogs and cats. He owns an English Mastiff named Duke and likes to fence. Warren hopes that working at Creature Comforts will look good on a college application for his future career as a marine biologist. |
Elisha Frable -- Maintenance Hired: 2/25/2011 Elisha does the overnight cleaning at our clinic. She has been married for 7 years and has 3 daughters, Carly, Carinne, and Alexis. She has 2 dogs, "Ribbons" and "Gordan". In her free time she likes to do jigsaw puzzles, ride quads, and spend quality time with her family. |
Kathy Lee Futchko -- Assistant Hired: 5/27/2009 Instruments: Kathy Lee has been working at CCVS for just under 3 years. Though she first started out in the kennel, she has now moved into instruments. She is responsible for the cleaning and up keep on all instruments which are used for surgeries and other medical procedures. You can also find her doing chiros and acupunctures with Dr. Karin. When she isn't taking care of instruments she is usually found pursuing her love of cooking or looking after her own cats. |
Lee Green -- Receptionist Hired: 9/13/2011 Night Supervisor: Lee was born in Ireland. She is the mother of 4 adult children, and has been married for 24 years. She is soon to be a grandmother for the first time. Lee is the proud parent of 6 cats, 4 dogs, and 1 gecko. She is a team member of "Ark of Hope" Relay for Life. She is so happy to be a member of the CCVS team! |
Sharon Hesney -- Kennel Assistant Hired: 8/26/2011 Sharon moved from New York 4 yrs ago to be with her daughters. She has 3 children, Michelle, Keith, and Nicole. The oldest 2 are married with Michelle having 4 children and Keith having 2Her youngest Nicole is getting married St. Patty's Day 2012. Sharon has been married for 34 years, and yes, to the same man. She has 5 siblings of which all her sisters live in Saratoga, and her brother lives in Easton, PA. Sharon is looking forward to working at Creature Comforts for many years to come and hopes to be an asset. |
Carrie Huegel -- Technician Hired: 8/30/2006 Carrie is wife to Clint of 17 years and mother to Chase, 15, Austin, 13, and Anya, 5. Carrie thoroughly enjoys the various areas of the hospital she works in and with. Be it office visits, surgery, ICU, chemotherapy, laser wound therapy, or pain management, she finds it all very fulfilling, educational, and exciting. Carrie's latest adventure will be continuing her education this upcoming year, working toward her Veterinary Technology Certification. |
Rachel Kessler -- Kennel Assistant Hired: 10/12/2011 Rachel is interested in becoming a vet tech simply because of her love of animals. She has two Pekingese named "Savannah" and "Harley". In her spare time Rachel enjoys cooking and baking from scratch, as well as reading, writing, and classic cars. Over the past year Rachel rebuilt a 1988 325is BMW and hopes to rebuild and collect many cars in the future. Rachel enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as meeting new people and making friends. |
Kimberly Komala -- Receptionist Hired: 9/1/2010 Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, 13 children / stepchildren, and her eight grandchildren. Add to the mix the four legged children, which include three cats "Butterscotch", "Boo-Boo", "Peek", two rats "Charlie", "Hendrix", two frogs, thirteen goldfish who occupy the rain barrel, three dogs "Buddy", grand pup "Axel", and her soon to be certified therapy friend, "Sarge". He is the driving force that brought her to CCVS and inspired her to organize the networking group S.H.O.T.Y. - "Sarge helping others through you". Known by most as "Mama K", she's always ready with a hug and a smile. |
Kareen Kosman -- Technician Supervisor Hired: 11/15/1990 Dental Department Supervisor: Kareen finds dentistry still to be the most compelling part of her job. She enjoys lab work, interacting with clients, and assisting in surgery. She is a member of our Blood Bank Committee, AAHA Committee, and Safety Committee. She also pet sits for those furry friends too. Kareen enjoys home life with Shaun, their five year old daughter Tori, their fish, and their newest, a dog named "Bristol". In Kareen's free time she enjoys scrap booking all of the fond memories of her family. The family spends weekends at the races and outside activities with their daughter like swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, camping, flying kites at the park, and baking. |
Natalie Krampert -- Night Technician Hired: 4/9/2009 Natalie is 23 years old and works overnight in ICU as well as Client Communications on the weekends. She has an assortment of pets at home ranging from cats and dogs to fish and a toad. She also fosters kittens and works avidly to rehome rehabilitated babies. |
Clara Jean Krampert -- Receptionist Hired: 7/12/2011 Clara Jean loves spending time with her family, her husband Walter, son David 33, daughter Christie 35, daughter Natalie 24, and son Phillip 16. The apple of her eye is her grandson Jacob Riley who turns 3 in January. She has 3 dogs, many cats, a frog with 5 legs who is blind, and fish. Clara Jean loves to sing, read, do crafts, cook, and bake. She loves being around people and helping those in need. She is a very caring and loving person and would do anything for you. |
Debra LaBarre -- Certified Technician Hired: 7/11/2007 Debbie has been a certified tech for 7 years. She has an 18 month old son named Braden. Baby #2 is due April 2012. She has two pugs, Lucy, who is 5 years old, and Ethel, who is 3 years old. Debbie enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, gardening, and traveling. |
Eileen Lange -- Office Manager Hired: 7/18/2004 Eileen is a member of the CCVS safety committee, Relay for Life "Ark of Hope", and "Toasty Toes". She spends most of her day at CCVS handling patient billing and inventory control. The staff is constantly hunting her down. In her spare time, Eileen likes gardening, sewing, arts and crafts with the grandkids, and is a collector of Maltese. Don't let her fool you; that is not a purse on her shoulder, it's a dog carrier. |
Victoria Lenkersdorf -- Certified Technician Hired: 2/23/2009 Tori is a certified tech that loves working in surgery. She has a son, 17 years old, a daughter, 22 years old, 2 grandkids, and various animals. |
Lorraine Lennon -- Technician Supervisor Hired: 12/18/1994 Surgical Department Supervisor: Lorraine has a strong interest in surgery and anesthesia. She very actively seeks continuing education, and is the drive behind our blood donor program. Lorraine also grooms all of the hard to groom pets that cannot be groomed anywhere else. Maybe in the future she will have her own business called "Lorraine's Last Chance Grooming". In her spare time she can be found showing and breeding her Westies and Goldens. She is now, in her spare time, the 4-H leader for the Dog Club called "Top Dog". Lorraine spends most of her spare time fixing up her home for herself, her Westies, and her Goldens. |
Cindy McCready-Rizzo -- Certified Technician Hired: 9/8/2003 Cindy loves her kids Anthony, 15 years old, and Brianna, 13 years old. They have 2 cats, Josie and Gennesee, and 2 dogs, Allie 4 yrs old, and Caleb 3 yrs old. Cindy went to school at Northampton Community College and received her vet tech degree. She loves caring for animals because it is such a rewarding job.

Bradley Meixsell -- Night Technician Hired: 6/26/2010 Brad is a technician who started at the end of June 2010. He attended Northampton and Lehigh Carbon Community Colleges. He grew up mostly in Nazareth and now lives in Allentown with a cat named Xander and a dog named Baz. As an Eagle Scout, he enjoys a lot of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, swimming, jogging, and small boat sailing. He also enjoys science fiction, Hannah Montana, and horror movies. |
Anthony Ramos -- Kennel Supervisor Hired: 5/5/2011 Anthony is a calm and relaxed person. He loves dogs and has two of his own. They are both Pomeranians; one is "Charlie" and the other is "Romeo". He also speaks three languages. |
Rebecca Rodriguez -- Kennel Assistant Hired: 7/26/2011 Rebecca studied Animal Science specializing in Equine Science at Delaware Valley College. She has worked with horses for 11 years, including working with race horses. She was working on a breeding farm in Kentucky delivering foals for the past two years, until she decided to switch gears and try her hand with small animals. She has raised two cats and two dogs that she lives with. She is very excited to learn and become a technician in the future. |
Angela Russo -- Reception Supervisor Hired: 12/29/2003 Angela lives with her fiancee, Chris, their twin cats, "Stink" and "Dink", and their ball python, "Ralphie". In her free time she likes to sing karaoke, watch reality television, and spend time with her family. |
Kathy Ruwedel -- Technician Hired: 9/10/2001 Client Communications: Kathy has been married to Wayne for 30 years. She has 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 3 birds. She adopted her 2 dogs this year, a 3 year old mixed breed, and a 5 year old Golden. Kathy enjoys traveling, hiking, and working with a variety on animals. |
Kristy Santee -- Technician Hired: 9/15/2003 Kristy recently celebrated her 1 year anniversary of marriage to her husband Kenny Santee III. She is a mother of two beautiful girls, Briana, 13, and Mikayla, 9. Kristy had a tubal ligation reversal in June and is now expecting baby #3 due July 3rd. Her interests as a technician at Creature Comforts include surgery and dentistry. Kristy is and always will be known as the Creature Comforts Class Clown. |
Heather Scott -- Technician Hired: 10/17/2011 Heather has been a technician for 17 years and a dog and cat groomer for 8 years. She rescues Pits and Rottis as a hobby. Heather owns 7 dogs; 6 Pits and 1 Boston Terrier. In her free time, she educates children interested in the vet industry, at the Kennedy High School in New Jersey, on the proper treatment of animals. |
Mary Sorensen -- Receptionist Hired: 5/5/2011 Mary has always been a client at Creature Comforts, and has been an employee now for a few months. She enjoys learning new things because eventually she would like to be a technician. She has two dogs, three cats, and a snake. Mary loves being home and spending time with her parents; John and Kathy, and her little sister Malinda. She has an older sister, Chrissi, who lives in North Carolina for college. Mary's favorite thing here is seeing the animals get adopted. She enjoys meeting all the clients and their pets! |
Ron Stem -- Physical Plant Supervisor Hired: 1/2/2002 Ron is the man that keeps a roof over our heads, the equipment working, and the light bulbs in the sockets. He is a 1983 MCTVS graduate with a degree in carpentry. He has a daughter Rebekah, a son Jacob, and a yellow lab named "Lilly". He enjoys archery, fishing, and camping. |

Vicki Telesh -- Technician Hired: 4/19/2010 Vicki has been working as a tech at Creature Comforts since 2004. She lives at home with her dogs Tia and Rebel. Rebel loves to play with her newest kitten Charlie and stir up all kinds of trouble. For the time being she is working in the Annex Building. She enjoys discharging all of the animals, seeing patients recover, and sending pets home with their families. |

Rob Wichman -- Kennel Supervisor Hired: 8/5/1999 Rob enjoys keeping the animals comfortable most of all. He can be seen walking our patients in all kinds of weather. He brings with him many years of experience with guide dogs. He lives with his wife of 42 years, Sharon, and together they have 8 grandchildren. He owns Rocky, one of our many rescues, and one cat. |
Arlene Wimperis -- Assistant Hired: 9/8/2010 Filing: Arlene is the mother of two and currently shares her home with two cats. She enjoys spending time with her friends, and she loves to bake and read. Most of all, Arlene enjoys spending time with her two grandkids. What a great time! |
Megan Wood -- Receptionist Hired: 9/22/2011 Megan is a 19 year old receptionist and aspiring technician. She has previously worked at a cat shelter for a year plus some. She has only ever worked with animals in her work history. Megan has 11 cats, 4 dogs, a ferret, and a turtle. She spends her free time with her family, both furry and human. She loves reading, writing, going for walks, and amusement parks or likewise festivities. She has always wanted to work in the veterinary field and will not settle for any less than what she strives for. |

Priscilla Yates -- Technician Hired: 5/15/2010 Priscilla started at CCVS in 2002, worked until 2008, and returned in 2010. She worked in the dog show field most of her life and continues to show dogs in her time from CCVS. Priscilla is very interested in all types of medicine but especially natural and holistic. She also does behavior consults for clients of CCVS and inventory with Eileen. |
