The
eighth of January was a busier day than usual at Creature Comforts--it
was blood donor media day. The Pocono Record sent a reporter and photographer
to cover what we feel is one of the most important achievements at our
clinic in the last year: our non-profit animal blood bank.
A small crowd of donors, owners, technicians, doctors and photographers
filled the living room area of the annex building as the normally quiet
procedure was performed. The three donors present this day, Cio (and
Charlene Rogers), Wisca (and Rita Breitlauch) and Noga (and Greg Paulin)
did exceptionally well with the extra attention, and went about their
donations as if nothing special was going on. Our staff was a little
nervous at first (we aren't used to being in the spotlight!) but things
went smoothly.
The story ran as a Pocono Life front page feature on January 22nd,
2004, and did a great job
of getting the word out about the hard work of our staff and dedication
of our donors. Without the tremedous efforts of these folks and pets
our blood bank would not be as successful as it is today.
To the left you can see Pocono Record photographer Jason Farmer as
he takes pictures of Noga (and his owner Greg Paulin) as Kareen Kosman
and Lorraine Lennon carefully draw blood.
Dr.
Pam Wilmot, Lorraine and Kareen sat down with reporter Helen George
after the procedures to discuss the history of the blood blank and
how it is helping save the lives of animals at Creature Comforts.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Pocono Record for helping
spread the word about our blood bank and our efforts to help make Creature
Comforts the most complete clinic for your pet's needs.

We have our own blood bank at Creature Comforts, providing quick access to blood in case your pet needs it in an emergency.

Our Blood Donor program was a feature story in the Pocono Record!

Is your pet's breath so bad it brings tears to your eyes? It could have a serious problem!

Due to findings in the latest vaccine research, AAHA has adopted new vaccination guidelines that affect all dog and cat owners. Creature Comforts will be following these new guidelines.
